Sculpted Maple Table

Built: 2014 (part of the CUTMR Bark Collection)
Materials: found decayed half stump, glass, stainless steel

This one-of-a-kind Sculpted Maple Table is made from a decaying piece of maple with bark and worm holes. It has been carved and smoothed into a half curve with repurposed stainless steel cabinet handles as legs and an upcycled piece of glass for the top. The inside is coated with resin to mimick the look of sap while the bark is left unfinished for a textured raw look. Makes a great coffee or side table and a beautiful show piece in any home.

This one-of-a-kind sculpted maple table is part of a new collection of bark pieces, created specifically for an exhibit in January 2014.
