Deer Jar Vase

Made: 2012
Materials: salvaged drift wood, mason jar, yarn

This deer coin jar vase is made with drift wood found on Cherry beach, an upcycled mason jar and yarn. The driftwood has been hollowed out to perfectly fit around a mason jar. Parts of the surface has been varnished, while areas where to wood broke off is left raw. The lid of the mason jar has been modified with a slit cut out for inserting coins. Yarn has been wrapped around the lid surface for soft texture and feel. Remove the lid and the jar can be used for cut or dried flowers. A very unique and aesthetically pleasing piece, suitable as a decorative statement piece in any room.
